Sound mind lives in a sound body is a well known fact. A small play field is available to the students to participate in different outdoor games and a physical education teacher is always ready to motivate and guide the students towards these games. The practice of organising outdoor events in cricket, football, volley ball, badminton, road race cycle racing are a routine here .

Broad band connectivity
Ten broad band connections under National Mission for Education Project (NME) are available in the college . Both the staff and students are benefiting out of this facility by keeping themselves up to date with the world changing very fast. Besides all science departments have been provided with broad band facility to carry out their teaching and research work in a better way.
University of Kashmir like all other colleges of the valley has established an I. T. Centre in this college for on line submission of admission forms ,student RR, examination forms and all types of mid- term and practical awards. Besides the centre helps in solving the grievance of students related to admission and examination.
The J&K Govt. With the help of ISRO has launched EDUSAT through which the college is linked to sub hub which enables students to interact with best resource persons around the country.
Students with poor background , low sources of sustenance and physically challenged are encouraged through a number of post-matric scholarship schemes financed by Govt. of India in collaboration of state Social Welfare Department . Out of students fund the college also grants financial aid to poor and deserving students. Students hailing from bad pocket families as described in SRO-294 are provided scholarships from Ministry of Human Resource Development.
For light refreshment of students, staff and guests a well maintained hygienic canteen facility is available in college premises that is run under the supervision of protocol committee. Due care is given to maintain quality , control and price of eatables.
Two separate hostles one for boys and other for girls were constructed long before by the state govt. for the students coming from far flung areas. Both the hostels are provided by basic residential facilities and can accommodate about 80 students . The hostel runs under the supervision of warden . There is a common hall provided with recreational facilities like T.V., newspaper ,magazine for hostel inmates
Hostel rules and regulations
- Priority for hostel accommodation is given to those students who are from border and backward areas.
- A hostel boarder shall have to pay non-refundable annual hostel fee of Rs. 2500 /= in full before the room allotment. Student residing in hostel are responsible for any loss/damage to hostel property.
- Meals will be served in the common dining hall, relaxation however can be given in case of handicapped /sick hostellers.
- In no case guests/relatives are allowed to reside in hostel
- Ragging is strictly prohibited in hostel. Any hosteller found guilty of this act will be expelled from the hostel and college .

A fleet of three college delux buses remain active during academic session to ferry students from kupwara town to college premises and back . There is separate arrangement of buses for boys and girls. It is mandatory for students to maintain discipline during travel.
For organising debates, seminars ,conferences and other functions, a spacious auditorium equipped with latest public address system LCD projector and furnished with 250 comfortable seats is available in the college.
Admission section and I.T. centre have been shifted in a single story building that has been recently constructed and handed over to the college administration .The main hall of the building is proposed for conducting conferences and meetings.
A 45 KVA Kirlosker diesel genset has been purchased to ensure un interrupted power supply for smooth functioning of various departments and science laboratories .
In order to monitor watch and ward and to keep vigil on the routine academic and office activities happening in and around the campus 32 cameras were installed in the college on the recommendation of college Development/ purchase committee .
