NSS Volunteers went for fund raising for the orphans housed in Basirai Tabasum at Sulkot Kupwara, a charitable trust giving shelter and support to about 60 girl orphans in the age group of 2 to 15 years. Prof. M A Wani, the principal along with the staff members and students shared some time with the children on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr. Some gifts were distributed among the inmates of the orphanage.
In collaboration with MSF Kupwara Unit, the NSS unit organized a three day workshop for identifying the stress related health problems and their remedies. Some counselors from MSF worked with about 30 students of the college in a constructive manner. Besides creating awareness and providing tools for identifying the stress related problems in the young people, the aim of the workshop was to train the participants for helping the community at large in educating the people about the growing psychological disorders and the possible remedies to avoid catastrophic consequences.
