1)Asst. Prof. F.A.Lone, Department of Botany joins on 31-01-2010 releiving Asst. Prof.Zafar .Shahdad who is transfered to GDC Baramulla.

2) Asst. Prof .Rakhmat Shah ,Deptt. of Zoology was transfered and releived to join at W.C.Baramulla.The post has fallen vacant as no replacement was provided for him.

Consequent upon the deceleration of 12th Class examination and the University notification admission for B.A, BSc. 1st year at Govt. Degree College Kupwara is open for eligible candidates against the available seats. Details of admission, combination of subjects, fee structure can be downloaded from the college website or can be verified from the college prospectus 2010. Forms along with prospectus are available at the college admission counter from 5th of Feb. 2010.

Meeting of various committees

College IQAC, Convenor UGC Committee and Convenor Women’s Development Cell held separate meetings to finalize the academic calendar for 2010 and also the calendar of activities related to Women’s Development Cell. Coordinator NAAC also held a meeting of his committee where it was recommended that the college should send its online request to the NAAC for re-accreditation of the college. The college NAAC committee was directed to gear up and make all preparations for the re-accreditation process.

College celebrates farewell party for the outgoing class

College cultural unit organised a farewell party for the outgoing class which was largely attended and students presented various items. Principal of the college addressed the students emphasising the need for developing social responsibility among the passouts. The college had invited District Social Welfare Officer Mr Irfan and District Employment Officer Mr Mir to discuss employment opportunities and financial assistance students would require for persuing higher education and jobs.
